BIO COTTON

Cotton is our second most important material after polyester. For this, we specifically focus on more sustainable cotton. In 2022, we were already able to label 82% of our cotton as certified organic cotton. Together with our partners, we are working to steadily increase the proportion of sustainable cotton in our collection. Conventional cotton cultivation mainly involves monocultures. This is associated with problems for people and the environment. We can counteract this by relying on organic cotton, where no genetically modified seeds may be used in cultivation, the soil undergoes crop rotation, and no artificial weed killers or pesticides are used. In addition, less water is needed.

The challenge: An extremely high demand for organic cotton meets a low supply on the part of farmers in the producing countries. That's why our partners need support in the form of firm commitments and a system to help them make the switch to organic cotton. This is what we are working on together - Our Team for a better World.
